Kiki Vance
Kiki is a long-time mover, athlete, and performer. As an educator for art of motion and Anatomy Trains, she currently presents courses to movement trainers of various disciplines to incorporate intentional movement to more directly address the body’s fascial system. A big fan of “movement as medicine” on many levels, she enjoys working with people both in a one-to-one setting or in small group classes to find inspiration, growth, and somatic trust in our bodies through movement exploration and practice. Trained as a dancer from an early age, Kiki further pursued dance at Purchase College (SUNY) , discovering Ideokinesis and Pilates during her time there. In the process of healing her own injuries, she became fascinated by the exploration of movement initiated or sourced from the inside outward as opposed to working from the outside in. Her lifelong study of the body began. Kiki’s studies include massage therapy, somatic movement therapy as well as the Topf Technique, Participatory Arts work through Moving on Center, Pilates, GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®, Structural Integration, and—most recently—Slings Myofascial Training; a diploma process through art of motion in Switzerland. Kiki is currently the sole instructor in the United States of this approach to functional myofascial training.
